Rowbuy fees and the dollar rate, broken into pieces
Three charges, two checkouts and a rate feed. What is published, what is blank, and what a small order adds up to.
The three charges
Rowbuy's help article on fees describes three parts. The goods cost is what the Chinese seller charges plus the seller's local shipping to the warehouse. The service fee is Rowbuy's charge for buying, handling, photographing and storing the item. International shipping depends on the line and on the verified weight and volume of the parcel. Coupons come off on top.
Of the three, only the shipping charge can be worked out in advance from public data. The goods cost is on the listing. The service fee exists, but no percentage or amount appears anywhere public on rowbuy.com as of October 23, 2026.
Two payment moments
You pay twice per order. The first payment, for the goods and the seller's delivery, happens when you submit the order. The second, for international shipping, happens after the QC photos, when you send the packed parcel. Weeks can pass between the two if you let items collect in storage, so keep both in your budget from the start.
The exchange rate Rowbuy uses
Rowbuy bills in US dollars and lists most prices in yuan. Its public rate feed read 1 CNY = 0.1476 USD on October 21, 2026, which works out to about 6.78 yuan per dollar. The site header defaults to English and CNY; switching it to USD converts the cards. The help center does not say where the rate comes from or how often it is updated, so check it on the day you pay.
Quick conversions at that rate: CNY 50 is $7.38, CNY 120 is $17.71, CNY 240 is $35.42, CNY 500 is $73.80.
Paying from Canada
Rowbuy has no Canadian dollar pricing. A Canadian card is charged in USD and the issuing bank converts at its own rate, often with a foreign transaction fee. The order total tool on this site takes your bank's USD to CAD rate as an optional input so you can see the number that will land on your statement. A card with no foreign transaction fee, or a USD account, removes that layer.
What is published, and what is still blank
We read every public Rowbuy page that touches money. The free storage period, the billing currency and the shipping rules are stated. The service fee rate, the value of the new-user coupons and the number of free QC photos are not. Rowbuy says you will always see an estimate before you commit, so the real service fee appears inside your account before you pay it.
Where Rowbuy's discounts come off
Both Rowbuy discounts we found work on international shipping only. New accounts get a shipping coupon bundle of unstated value that applies automatically when eligible. The Lucky Wheel gives one spin to a new account that enters an influencer invite code and one spin per delivered parcel; prizes run from 10 to 40 percent off a single parcel's shipping, cannot be stacked with another coupon and expire after 15 days.
The affiliate program is not a discount for you; it pays the person who referred you a share of your shipping fees.
A worked order total
Two tees from the warm-season page, at CNY 115 and CNY 175, with an assumed CNY 10 of seller shipping, come to CNY 300 of goods: $44.28 at the October 21 rate. Packed together at about 600 grams, they would bill as 1 kg on the cheaper US line, CNY 174 or $25.68, or CNY 72.60 ($10.72) to Canada at 600 grams. Add the service fee shown in your account and any duties, and that is the order.
The seller shipping figure is our assumption; real listings state their own. The order total and parcel tools do this arithmetic for your own numbers.
